Slippery Elm - A natural remedy for acid reflux and ulcers

Slippery Elm is one of the greatest herbs in the world, but very few have ever heard of it. I'm not surprised. The unholy alliance that Big Pharma has formed with the US government is good and strong. They want to prevent the public from becoming aware of inexpensive medicinal herbs that could actually cure them of their ailments. Health problems like acid reflux or stomach ulcers could be a thing of the past with medicinal herbs like slippery elm.

Literally, the billions the government and public pay for healthcare could be drastically reduced if medicinal herbs were recommended by doctors, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that.

Let's talk slippery elm. This remarkable herb soothes and heals not only when taken internally but when used externally as a poultice. It has an abundance of mucus that soothes, strengthens and distributes inflammation. It is remarkably healing and soothing for irritated and inflamed flesh and as such useful for the treatment of wounds, various rashes and burns.

The range of medicinal uses in which this herb not only calms but also heals is nothing short of astounding.

Here is a list of some of its diverse medicinal uses:

  • Saurer Rückfluss
  • Magengeschwüre
  • Blähung
  • Chronische Verstopfung (in Kombination mit Flohsamen)
  • Akne
  • Hautausschläge wie Furunkel, Karbunkel, Abszesse
  • Ruhr
  • Poison Ivy (lindert und heilt, wenn es als Umschlag verwendet wird)
  • Vaginale Reizung
  • Verbrennungen, zB Sonnenbrand, regelmäßige Verbrennungen, wirklich jede Art von Verbrennungen
  • Halsschmerzen
  • Sodbrennen
  • Gangränöse Wunden oder Wunden
  • Lungenentzündung
  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Schmerzhaftes Urinieren

This list is by no means complete. Slippery Elm is a powerful “demulcent” or calming herb that comes from the bark of the Slippery Elm Tree. The powder is extracted from the inner bark, ideally from trees older than 10 years. Its botanical name isUlmus fulvaand it comes from the Ulmaceae or elm family.

As you can see from the bullet list above, slippery elm has a variety of medicinal uses. Essentially, think of the health benefits of Slippery Elm like this: When there is something on the human body that needs to be nourished, soothed, and healed all at the same time, think Slippery Elm.

This means it is ideal for healing inflamed fleshy surfaces such as ulcers, which I am personally familiar with, sunburn, inflamed mucous membranes, poison ivy, boils, skin diseases, inflamed bowel syndrome, etc.

Let's compare this herb to a typical allopathic remedy for acid reflux disease. Why don't we honestly compare the cheap price of slippery elm with the drugs Prilosec and Nexium side by side?

First, both the herb and the drug's proponents claim that it does the same thing.

The drugs are promoted as new miracle cures for millions of people and are major moneymakers for their pharmaceutical companies. Have you ever heard of the drug Prilosec? After its release to the gullible public, Prilosec, the original “Purple Pill” for heartburn, became the world’s best-selling prescription drug for seniors. Would you like to guess how much money this “miracle drug” Prilosec makes for its manufacturer AstraZeneca?Try $6 billion a year. That's a billion with a b.

When Prilosec's patent expired, its manufacturer, AstraZeneca, launched a $500 million marketing campaign to switch consumers to Nexium, the next Purple Pill. To say that they make money from this drug is an understatement. You don't spend $500 million on an advertising/marketing campaign unless you make that much and more profit. And it's profitable.

How about the cost of slippery elms? A supply of 100 capsules of slippery elm pods costs $9 to $16. A 16-ounce bag of slippery elm powder costs between $20 and $26. I've seen ads for Nexium charging $130 for 100 tablets. (I've actually seen it as high as $162 for 30 pills.)

It's even worth paying $25 to $90 a month for a pill that never cures the problem, but does alleviate itnota healing. It's a stopgap solution at best. It's insane. SlipperyElm Bark is a natural remedy for acid reflux and ulcers. I have had two ulcers that the slippery elm not only soothed on a daily basis but actually soothedheal. Imagine that.

Western medicine has been a great blessing to humanity with its research and emergency care, but it has a proven terrible record of actually curing people of illness.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this herb is a great gift to humanity, but unfortunately humanity is not smart enough to use it or they simply do not know its virtues. Most herbal remedies are very inexpensive, but the US government and pharmaceutical companies do not want people to know about these natural remedies because if these remedies were published or made public, $6 billion worth of profit centers would virtually disappear and with it their inherent tax revenue. So if you have an ulcer or acid reflux or something that is inflamed or injured, slippery elm can help.
