D-Alpha Gems (Oral)
D-Alpha Gems (Oral)
Used for D-Alpha Gemstones
Some medical conditions may increase your need for vitamin E. This includes:
- Darmerkrankung
- Leber erkrankung
- Pankreaserkrankung
- Chirurgische Entfernung des Magens
An increased need for vitamin E should be diagnosed by your doctor.
Vitamin E deficiency may occur in infants who receive formula that is not fortified with vitamin E. Additionally, a diet high in polyunsaturated fatty acids may increase your need for vitamin E.
Claims that vitamin E is effective in treating cancer and preventing or treating acne, aging, hair loss, bee stings, moles on the hands, bursitis, diaper rash, frostbite, stomach ulcers, heart attacks, labor, etc. Blood diseases, miscarriages, muscular dystrophy, poor posture, sexual impotence, sterility, infertility, menopause, sunburn, and lung damage from air pollution have not been proven. Although vitamin E is used to prevent certain types of cancer, there is not enough information to show that it is effective.
Vitamin E deficiency is extremely rare, except in people suffering from a disease in which it is not absorbed by the body.
Vitamin E is available without a prescription.
Importance of nutrition
A balanced and varied diet is important for good health. Carefully follow any diet programs recommended by your doctor. For your specific vitamin and/or mineral dietary needs, ask your doctor for a list of appropriate foods. If you feel that your diet does not contain enough vitamins and/or minerals, you may choose to take a nutritional supplement.
Vitamin E is found in various foods, including vegetable oils (corn, cottonseed, soybeans, safflower), wheat germ, whole grains, and green leafy vegetables. Cooking and storage can destroy some of the vitamin E in foods.
Vitamin supplements alone cannot replace good nutrition and do not provide energy. Your body also needs other substances found in food such as protein, minerals, carbohydrates and fat. Vitamins themselves often cannot work without the presence of other foods. For example, small amounts of fat are required so that vitamin E can be absorbed by the body.
The daily amount of vitamin E required is defined in various ways.
Vitamin E is available in several forms, including D- or DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, D- or DL-alpha-tocopherol, and D- or DL-alpha-tocopheryl acid succinate. In the past, RDAs for vitamin E were expressed in units. This term has been replaced by alpha-tocopherol equivalents (alpha-TE) or milligrams (mg) of D-alpha-tocopherol. One unit corresponds to 1 mg dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate or 0.6 mg d-alpha-tocopherol. Most commercially available products are still labeled in units.
The normal recommended daily intake in milligrams (mg) alpha-tocopherol equivalents (mg alpha-TE) and units for vitamin E is generally defined as follows:
