Side effects of EpiQuin Micro

EpiQuin Micro can cause serious side effects. Stop using EpiQuin Micro and call your doctor immediately if you have:

severe skin redness, burning or stinging;
-
severe dryness, cracking, or bleeding of the skin;
-
blistering or oozing; or
-
blue or black discoloration of the skin (especially if you are of Hispanic or African American descent).
Common side effects of EpiQuin Micro may include:
-
slight burning or stinging of the treated skin; or
-
mild itching, redness, or other irritation.

Warnings
Follow all instructions on the label and packaging of your medicine. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies and any medications you take.
Before you take this medicine
You should not use EpiQuin Micro if you are allergic to hydroquinone or peroxide.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist whether it is safe to use this medicine if you have ever had:

liver or kidney disease;
-
asthma or sulfite allergy; or
-
if you are taking antibiotics.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor before using this medicine.
Do not give this medicine to anyone under 12 years of age without medical advice.
How should I use EpiQuin Micro?
Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor.
EpiQuin Micro is usually used every morning and at bedtime. Follow your doctor's dosage instructions very carefully.
Do not take orally. Topical medicines should only be used on the skin.
Before you start using EpiQuin Micro, take a “test dose” to see if you are allergic to this medicine. Apply a very small amount of the medication to a small area of healthy skin and check the area within 24 hours. If there is no reaction other than mild redness, begin using the full prescribed amount of medication.
Wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless you are using it to treat the skin on your hands.
Apply this medicine only to the affected skin areas that need lightening. Try to avoid getting any medications on the skin in these areas.
Do not use EpiQuin Micro on open wounds or on sunburned, windburned, dry, cracked, or irritated skin.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 2 months or if your condition worsens.
Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Use the medicine as soon as possible, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not apply two doses at the same time.
What happens if I overdose?
An overdose of EpiQuin Micro is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222 if someone accidentally swallows the medication.
What should I avoid when using hydroquinone topically?
Avoid getting EpiQuin Micro in your eyes.
Avoid getting this medicine on your lips or in your nose or mouth. Hydroquinone can cause numbness in these areas.
Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds. EpiQuin Micro may cause you to get sunburned more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when outdoors. Some hydroquinone products may contain sunscreen. To be sure, check the medicine label or ask your doctor.
EpiQuin Micro can make your skin more sensitive to weather extremes like cold and wind. Protect your skin with clothing and use a moisturizing lotion if necessary.
Using EpiQuin Micro with benzoyl peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, or other peroxide products may cause spots on the skin. These stains can usually be removed with soap and water.
Avoid using skin products that may cause irritation, such as: B. harsh soaps, shampoos or skin cleansers, hair dyes or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes, and skin products with alcohol, spices, astringents or lime.
What other drugs will affect EpiQuin Micro?
The medicine used on the skin is unlikely to be affected by other medicines you use. But many medications can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products.
