An eczema treatment that soothes and soothes inflamed skin
Sometimes the skin is so raw, inflamed, and may even have a hard crust that even the strongest steroid cream cannot penetrate and soothe the eczema and dry skin. In addition to the pain of itchy, inflamed skin, sleep is also affected and as we all know, poor sleep has a huge impact on many other aspects of your life, including your concentration at work, getting sick more easily because you are running down and it can cause your emotions to be all over the place.
However, there is a technique known aswet wrapsThis can help soothe and soothe the skin. Not only can the technique leave skin feeling supple, but it can also make your skin feel less irritated. It can help you sleep much better.
What are wet wraps? This is a technique that involves placing two layers of tubular cotton bandages on your dry and itchy skin.
Method:
1. Apply a thick layer of emollient cream or ointment as you normally would before bed.
2. Measure the length of the body part you want to apply wet wraps to, then cut two equal strips of tubular cotton bandage that correspond to that length.
3. Take one of the strips of tubular cotton bandage and dip it in warm water. Wring out the excess water before placing it on the body part you are applying the wet wrap to (e.g. arm, leg, etc.).
4. Place the other strip of tubular cotton bandage on top of the wet bandage you have already applied.
5. Repeat the process for all other limbs and body areas of your child.
Services –Wet wraps have been particularly useful for my children to help them sleep well by cooling and soothing their skin. They also protect the skin from infections caused by scratches because they create a barrier between your fingernails and your red, inflamed skin. The net result is a faster healing process.
NB Minimizing damage from nighttime scratches
If your child's skin is not particularly inflamed and you just want to prevent skin damage during the night, consider wearing gloves made of lightweight cotton material. However, these are not always available, so you may need to make them yourself or have them made.
