So many Americans today have problems with acid reflux due to stress and their diet. There are now pills that might help with this problem and they might not. Let's face it, in our fast-paced world we just don't eat and exercise the way we should. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to get everything done. Under such stress, our insides become torn apart, but with proper nutrition this can be remedied. When a person eats a meal, their esophageal sphincter (the place where food passes from the mouth to the stomach; most think of it as their throat) begins to work, causing a sour and painful feeling. Choosing the right foods to prevent that sour taste and vomiting the food could stop them. Consult your doctor first if you have these problems for five days or longer. If nothing works, you may have acid reflux, so check with your doctor before starting anything. Unfortunately, many simply put you on medication and send you home.
Medication could work; It may not be so, why not try eating the right foods in small portions throughout the day. Eat five or six times a day throughout the day and you will likely feel a difference. Proper nutrition also helps. Stay away from the fried foods we all love and sodas. Don't eat too late at night, your system won't have time to digest the food and will sit there all night causing pain.
Eat your vegetables in moderation as some are high in acid and can increase acid reflux. In moderation, you can eat anything as long as it is fresh, such as lean meats, chicken, fruits and some dairy products. You will probably have to mistakenly try to eliminate the foods that harm your stomach. Above all, eat slowly, if you think you don't have time, take the time. This gives your stomach time to digest what you give it and you can see if it bothers you; then you can move on. Here too, eat small portions several times a day.
