Refresh Eye Itch Relief can have serious side effects. Stop using Refresh Eye Itch Relief and call your doctor immediately if you have:

  • eye pain or vision problems;

  • Itching of the eye that gets worse or lasts longer than 72 hours;

  • severe burning, stinging or eye irritation after using the eye drops; or

  • Signs of an eye infection – swelling, redness, severe discomfort, crusting or discharge.

Less serious side effects may be more likely, and you may not have any at all.

Before you take this medicine

You should not use Refresh Eye Itch Relief if you are allergic to it or if you have:

  • Eye irritation from wearing contact lenses.

Consult a doctor before using Refresh Eye Itch Relief if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not allow a small child to use Refresh Eye Itch Relief without adult assistance.

How should I apply Refresh Eye Itch Relief?

Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not use if you wear soft contact lenses. Refresh Eye Itch Relief may contain a preservative that may permanently discolor the lenses. Wait at least 10 minutes before inserting your contact lenses.

Wash your hands before applying eye medications.

To apply the eye drops: Pull your lower eyelid down to create a small pocket and squeeze a drop into that pocket. Close your eyes for 1 or 2 minutes.

Use only the prescribed number of drops.

Wait at least 5 minutes before using other eye drops.

Do not touch the pipette tip or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated eyedropper can infect your eye and cause serious vision problems.

Call your pharmacist if the medicine looks cloudy, has changed color, or contains particles.

Each disposable vial is for single use (in both eyes) only. Store the unused vials in the original foil pouch and protect them from light. Throw away the vial after one use, even if it still contains medicine.

Store at room temperature, upright and tightly closed. Do not freeze.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Use the medicine as soon as possible, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not use two doses at the same time.

What happens if I overdose?

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222 if someone accidentally swallows the medicine.

What should I avoid when using Refresh Eye Itch Relief?

Do not use other eye medications unless your doctor tells you to.

What other drugs will affect Refresh Eye Itch Relief?

Medications you use in the eyes are unlikely to be affected by other medications you are taking. But many medications can interact. Tell your doctor about all your current medications, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products.
