3 Insane Mistakes That Cause Acne Patients to Cause Severe Acne Breakouts
How badly do you want to cure your acne? Do you stand in front of the mirror looking at your face and just wish your acne would go away soon? I know exactly how you feel as I suffered from acne for five and a half years. I want to share with you 3 mistakes that you need to avoid now. Avoid them and start implementing the solutions in your life if you want less frequent acne breakouts.
Mistake #1 –Consuming too many omega-6 fatty acids and too few omega-3 fatty acids. The ideal ratio is 1:1, but the average American has a 20:1 ratio in favor of omega-6 fatty acids. Some nutritionists say a 4:1 ratio is ideal. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to fight off free radicals, resulting in fewer breakouts.
Solution #1 –Eat more omega-3 fatty acids and less omega-6 fatty acids. Do this by eating more fatty fish, taking a fish oil or krill oil supplement, eating more walnuts, hemp seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds and other similar foods that contain a good dose of omega-3 fatty acids. Eating grass-finished beef and other meats higher in omega-3 fatty acids will also help.
Mistake #2– Don’t eat raw foods. Most of us cook all of our meals. This destroys the enzymes present in food, making it harder to digest and making meat carcinogenic. It's important to nourish your skin, but when you cook food, the nutrients are lost.
Solution #2– Steam your vegetables. For lunch, eat a huge salad with lots of colorful vegetables. Drink a green smoothie for breakfast. Cook more of your own food instead of buying packaged foods that are often overcooked.
Mistake #3– Avoiding sunlight. Do you avoid the sun and/or protect your skin from the sun with sunscreen? Doing this is a deadly mistake. Vitamin D3 is the most important vitamin that our body needs. The best source is the sun. Your skin loves sunlight and will thrive with more of it.
Solution #3 –Go outside more. Don't burn yourself, but make sure you get sunlight every day if possible. For those of you who live in climates where it is cold in the winter months, take a vitamin D3 supplement. I live in Michigan so I do this myself.
Avoid these 3 mistakes and you will be on the right path to clear skin. But just doing these 3 things won't necessarily cure your acne, although they will certainly help a lot.
