Easy Ways to Get Rid of Back Acne
Dealing with pimples and acne alone is like going to war with something that you don't know when it will appear out of the blue. This makes it particularly difficult for teenagers. However, the situation worsens when the annoying acne also breaks out on the back. Therefore, it is sometimes referred to as bacne.
Bacne is caused by the same element that triggers facial acne. It contains overactive oil organs, abundant dead skin cells, and expansion of pimple-producing organisms. The excess oil and dead skin usually gets trapped in the follicle or pores, causing them to block. This becomes a blackhead and then a pimple as the bacteria invade. To clear back acne, there are several powerful home solutions that can be useful. First, here are a few.
1. Oatmeal
Who doesn't love oatmeal for a delicious breakfast? But were you aware that they act as a natural cleanser for your skin? Certainly not, right? Well, these little guys clean the skin pores and absorb the excess oil which helps in treating acne. It can also be used as a peeling to soothe inflamed skin.
Simply add a tablespoon of oatmeal in a small amount of water to form a thick paste. Massage the affected area with the paste in circular motions. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Or add a cup of oatmeal to your bathtub and soak for 30 minutes daily.
2. Apple cider vinegar
Another great ingredient for the back acne remedy is apple cider vinegar. It can be easily found in most kitchens. This one is known to work wonders when it comes to skin problems and Bacne is no exception. ACV, a wonderful ingredient, helps balance the skin's pH levels, naturally preventing breakouts.
All you need to do is mix apple cider vinegar with water in a 1:2 ratio in a spray bottle. Before you go to bed, spray it on your back and leave it on for 20-25 minutes before washing it off. Store the bottle of mixture in the refrigerator. Alternatively, you can also apply apple cider vinegar to your back using a cotton ball. It's your decision.
3. Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a native plant of Australia. It has been known for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties for years. Therefore, it is now often used to treat skin infections in athletes. While for back acne, applying tea tree oil on the skin kills the bacteria that causes bacne. In addition, the outbreaks are treated evenly at the same time.
So, mix 2-3 drops of tea tree oil with a cup of water and apply the solution on the affected area with the help of a cotton ball. Allow it to dry and store the solution for further use. If possible, repeat this process 1-2 times a day and also before bed. Be careful when using it undiluted. It can cause irritation, redness, blistering, itching, and excessive dryness.
4. Baking soda
Baking soda's amphoteric properties make it act as both an acid and a base, excellently balancing the pH of the skin. While its antiseptic as well as mild anti-inflammatory properties help heal skin irritation and swelling due to acne. Apart from them, it acts as a perfect exfoliator to remove dirt and dead skin and leave the skin smooth, clean and radiant.
However, be careful not to use it more than twice a week for treatment. A high concentration of alkaline presence can be too harsh on the skin. To prepare the scrub, mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with enough water to make a thick paste. Gently scrub this paste on the back and other affected area for relief. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
Other notable ingredients also include aloe vera, witch hazel, lavender oil, lemon, and Epsom salt.
