People usually develop some type of psychotic disorder after experiencing life trauma. It complicates matters when your past is difficult to forget and forgive. Overloaded with your past makes it difficult for you to heal from the inside out. This is why emotional disorders easily relapse when there is a trigger point. Ersterer …

Look forward to the past - when your past comes back to haunt you

People usually develop some type of psychotic disorder after experiencing life trauma. It complicates matters when your past is difficult to forget and forgive. Overloaded with your past makes it difficult for you to heal from the inside out. This is why emotional disorders easily relapse when there is a trigger point.

I have two clients who have had anxiety and depression. Both showed an intention to commit suicide, they told me. One (client A) has a job and another (client B) is out of the job market for a long time. She couldn't even drive because of the illness. The former was on medication when we first met; The latter stopped her medication because she couldn't afford a good one.

The use of aromatherapy has produced promising results in curing anxiety and depression. I made everyone an inhaler. The formula I gave them is as follows:

5 drops of frankincense (Boswellia carterii)

3 drops of orange (Citrus sinensis)

2 drops Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)

Frankincense is known for its healing properties and calms the emotions and our minds. Because it supports healing on all emotional levels, it is inevitable that anxiety and depression can be alleviated to some extent. It can also help that person stay focused. Together with orange essential oil, the combination's calming and calming properties ease symptoms and boost mood. This combination also promotes the flow of internal energy. The calming and calming effect is enhanced with Roman chamomile.

For Client A, she was able to stop taking the medication after inhaling the aroma for two weeks. She became more positive and optimistic. Two weeks later she was relieved of her illness. She did not have a relapse even after stopping aromatherapy.

For Client B, she has had anxiety and depression for more than 10 years. The inhaler calmed and cleared her mind. She was able to express herself more clearly. She was also able to stay focused longer. After two weeks, she was able to stay focused and live like a normal person. Since it is a chronic disease, it takes time to fully recover.

When dealing with people with psychotic symptoms, some aromatherapists prefer to first release their deep-rooted hidden feelings. I worry that triggering the past emotions could further complicate the healing process as the outbursts could get out of control and make it difficult for them to cope. I took a softer approach - to ease the hidden feelings of the past, be it hate or sadness. An hour before they sleep, I asked them to inhale the following aroma in an inhaler:

5 drops cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana)

3 drops of Melissa (Melissa officinalis)

2 drops of Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum)

Grounding Cedarwood can strengthen our confidence in the difficult situation and our past. Melissa can comfort our hearts, calm and calm our agitated feelings. Most importantly, it can help us sleep better – so we can heal faster. Like Melissa, Jasmine Absolute can comfort our hearts and relieve repressed and inhibited emotions.

Client C has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her condition was under control but is still taking some mood enhancers. She visits a psychiatrist every few months for follow-up care. Her main concern was that she had withdrawn from her past, making it difficult for her to forgive and forget what had happened. She even wanted revenge for the bad things in her life. To fix this problem, I recommended that she use the above wording. After using it, she had some vivid dreams, but they were light ones. When she woke up, she still felt light and cheerful. Her day was going well when she took the mood enhancers. Her reflection on her past gradually faded and she approached life more positively. At least she doesn't live a life with two characters.

Continued use can not only induce sleep, but also calm our hearts so that we can absorb our past and release it in a constructive way.

“Scents touch our hearts;

Scents heal our past"

The above cases demonstrate the effectiveness of aromatherapy in curing psychotic illnesses such as anxiety and depression. To calm and improve their mood while helping them release and absorb their past trauma in a constructive way. There is more to discover and explore in these aspects. My sample size is not large enough to make conclusive comments, but these case studies serve as insightful and exploratory information.
