Toxic mold and weight gain
The most common health problems caused by toxic mold affect the respiratory system. A person who accidentally inhales spores of common mold may experience coughing, wheezing, a runny nose, fever, headache, and fatigue. He may also develop a rash and mild eye irritation.
However, someone who has been exposed to toxic mold may experience more serious ailments. It is not unlikely that with prolonged exposure a person will suffer from memory loss, mood disorders and damage to the nervous system.
There are even reports linking toxic molds to weight gain and weight loss problems, and now scientists may be able to present the factors that support this unusual connection.
How toxic mold affects the digestive system
When spores of toxic mold enter our body, they immediately affect healthy cells and destroy them. And because the respiratory system, through which mold spores pass, is connected to the digestive system, it is very likely that toxic mold spores enter the digestive tract.
Mold can destroy the stomach lining and prevent the healthy functioning of the system, disrupt various digestive processes and weaken the organs.
The immediate consequences of this infection are diarrhea and vomiting as our body instinctively tries to eliminate the harmful toxin. But there have also been cases of people suddenly gaining or losing weight after being exposed to toxic mold.
Have you ever heard of toxic or sick building syndrome?
Sick building syndrome (SBS) has been defined as a cluster of symptoms related to a person's home or work space. The cause was attributed to poor ventilation systems (including deficiencies in air conditioning and heating) in old and new buildings.
When a building is poorly ventilated, harmful fumes and toxins from pollutants cannot escape. Instead, they are trapped inside the building, multiplying and moving from one room to another.
There are a variety of reasons for sick building syndrome. In addition to poor ventilation, it can also be due to toxic volatile compounds, inadequate air filtration and of course mold.
Weight gain and toxic mold infection
Exposure to toxic mold not only leads to Health problems with the respiratory tract, but can also cause psychological problems. This is not surprising since the nervous system is also affected by this deadly toxic mold.
Mood swings and depression have been reported and these may be the reasons why people resort to binge eating or starvation. Therefore, regardless of weight gain or weight loss, you should never eliminate toxic mold as one of the likely causes.
And so that the symptoms do not worsen or reoccur, the place where the mold originated should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
