Hemorrhoids: what to do if there are no remedies?

Hemorrhoids: what to do if there are no remedies?
It's hard to believe that hemorrhoids are nothing more than veins that are swollen somewhere along the anal canal. Whether swelling internally or externally, the symptoms can be frightening, painful, annoying and embarrassing. Bright red blood may be visible after a bowel movement. Pain and pressure can make sitting very uncomfortable. It's crazy to have an itch that's impossible to scratch. A burning sensation may also occur.
They are very common because they have such simple causes. When pressure builds up around the veins, they swell. You may strain too much to have a bowel movement. It can occur when obesity puts extra pressure on the veins. Pregnancies and hemorrhoids go together. It is possible to have them inside and outside at the same time, making them doubly difficult to deal with. Yes, that actually happens.
If they swell enough, they can pop out of the anus and be put under even more pressure by the anal muscles. This is extremely painful, especially if circulation is interrupted. When they are outside, they can become easily irritated and form clots that harden and cause a lot of discomfort.
Unfortunately, there are no cures for hemorrhoids, regardless of what causes them or where they occur. There are treatments for the symptoms. There are medical procedures that don't always work to remove them. Even if it is removed, there is no guarantee that a recurrence will not occur.
Some simple remedies to relieve burning and itching include sitz baths, hydrocortisone creams, and lidocaine-based ointments. If they are painful, use wet baby wipes instead of toilet paper. There are medical pads that can be applied externally to provide some relief. They contain witch hazel, which can shrink them significantly. They won't make them disappear.
Hemorrhoids are graded on a scale of I to IV, with IV being severe enough to require surgical intervention. For the three lower classes, there are in-office treatments and procedures that can be performed without anesthesia. If there are small internal hemorrhages that bleed, attempts are made to shrink them by injecting special solutions. This is known as injection sclerotherapy and often fails.
If the injections do not work or if the hemorrhoids are large, a rubber band ligation is performed. This common internal treatment involves placing a rubber band around the base to cut off the blood supply. The starved portion of the vein dies and falls away, leaving scar tissue to hold the surrounding veins in place. This is a painful procedure.
If the pain factor prevents someone with low pain tolerance from receiving a rubber band ligation, or if the ligation does not work, the final non-surgical procedure is infrared photocoagulation. Infrared radiation is passed through an anal probe, targeting the tissue and burning it. This process must be repeated several times and has a high probability of recurrence.
A hemorrhoidectomy is performed when nothing else works. The tissue is surgically removed. Even after surgical removal, there is a possibility of the condition recurring. Knowing that there is no cure and that no treatments or procedures are guaranteed to produce permanent results, it would be wise to make efforts to prevent them from forming in the first place. Developing and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle can significantly reduce the likelihood of hemorrhoids. For more information visit http://www.hemorrhoidanswer.com
