Die Schilddrüse ist ein Mitglied des Drüsen- oder endokrinen Systems. The thyroid is a member of the glandular or endocrine system. The English medical term is derived from the Greek words: Thyreos meaning “shield” and Eidos meaning “form”.

The thyroid gland is located at the front of the neck. It is slightly heavier in women than in men and increases in size during pregnancy.

The thyroid secretes the hormone “thyroxine” directly into the bloodstream. Thyroxine is also known as “thyroid hormone”. Thyroxine is a compound containing iodine. In fact, the thyroid itself is composed primarily of the mineral iodine and is therefore important and necessary for optimal thyroid health and function.

The function of the thyroid includes: regulation of normal body growth in infancy and childhood, regulation of metabolism, regulation of body temperature, maintenance of skeletal maturation; and regulation of protein, fat and carbohydrates. These above functions depend on thyroxine or thyroid hormone.

The thyroid gland of most Americans is sluggish, if not completely inactive. This is especially true for American women. Inactive or underactive thyroid plays a major role in the modern American obesity epidemic, particularly in women, because an underactive or inactive thyroid affects metabolism and therefore body heat, which depends on the burning of fat converted from sugar.

Pathologies of the thyroid include: hypothyroidism, goiter, thyroid cancer and thyroiditis, to name a few. Iodine deficiency plays an important role in the development of these diseases or pathologies.

Many women suffering from thyroid problems seek medical attention from doctors who prescribe harmful pharmaceutical thyroid medications containing thyroid tracers that are laced with radiation to completely radiate and kill the thyroid. In Western allopathic medicine, the motto is: If you can't fix it, destroy it or remove it.

Since the thyroid corresponds to the fifth chakra (throat chakra) in the body, the imbalance of the fifth chakra also plays a role in thyroid problems. A chakra is a “wheel” or “vortex” that cannot be seen with the physical eye and is based entirely on energy. There are a total of seven main chakras located on specific organs of the body, and the fifth chakra is located in the throat area. The color for the fifth chakra is light blue and blue, so any gemstone with this color (or even violet or purple) can help balance or correct imbalances of this particular chakra.

Blue colored stones include: blue lace agate, angelite, chrysocola, celestite, azurite and lapis lazuli. These stones can be placed directly on the thyroid for a few minutes to correct an imbalance in this chakra.

You know, it's very bizarre in the sense that the thyroid responds not only to the color blue, but also to the color purple, and the main mineral for the thyroid is iodine. This term is derived from the Greek word ioeides and means “violet.”

Iodine is a bluish-black solid that turns into a purple vapor when heated. Therefore, the thyroid responds to blue and purple.

It amazes me how a single mineral like iodine can cause some of the most horrific health diseases. Did you know that cretinism (including drawfism, mental retardation, large tongue and muscle incoordination) is the result of thyroid deficiency? Dwarfs (dwarfs) are the direct result of a lack of iodine in the mother's body during pregnancy. That's what mental retardation is like. Both conditions can be prevented by ensuring adequate amounts of iodine in the body.

And have you ever seen anyone with goiter? It looks like a large tumor on the neck. Goiter is simply the result of severe iodine deficiency and can be reversed with adequate amounts of iodine in the daily diet.

Great and natural sources of iodine include: white oak bark, black walnut shells, watercress, chickweed and seaweed, especially seaweed which includes nori, dulse, seaweed, Irish moss, Icelandic moss, bladderwrack, spirulina, chlorella, hiziki. Arame, Wakame, Red Marine Algae and Blue Green Algae to name a few. In fact, seaweed is the biggest and best food for humans as it provides us with all the nutrients we need for optimal health. You don't need to eat fish as a source of iodine. Fish are rich in iodine because what do fish eat? Answer: Seaweed! And what is seaweed rich in? Answer: Iodine! Leave the fish alone and let it live and just like the fish and eat weeds to get your natural iodine.

Iodized salt as a source of iodine? I do not believe that! While iodized salt may have curbed the incidence of cretinism in the United States, it played a large role in the development of hypertension in this country. So cretinism was exchanged for high blood pressure.

Instead of using iodized salt under the banner of sodium chloride (white table salt), it is much better (and safer) to use sea salt (available at health food stores).

Magnets can also be very helpful for thyroid problems by stimulating the thyroid. Simply place a magnet on the thyroid for a few hours and the thyroid will be revived. This technique alone will reverse thyroiditis (inflammation of the thyroid gland).

If you are pregnant, it is important that you get adequate amounts of iodine.

Iodine is of course important for anyone trying to lose weight (fat).

I have put together an iodine phosphate formula and a thyroid formula, both of which are rich in natural iodine and contain the best weeds and herbs that provide very large amounts of natural iodine. In addition to providing iodine, sea weeds have a mucilaginous and bulking effect in the colon, which helps cleanse the colon, form stools, and most importantly, suppresses the hunger (or appetite) that obese people need to lose weight.

Finally, remember that: (1) any thyroid condition can be reversed or cured with natural iodine and (2) pharmaceutical grade synthetic iodine is toxic and can prove fatal.
