Acne cleansers are facial care products designed to remove dead cells, open pores, remove oil, dust, dirt and other harmful pollutants. Generally, acne cleansers are used twice or three times daily and in conjunction with skin toners and moisturizers. Acne cleansers work better than regular soap because soap has a very high pH level, which can alter the pH balance of the skin. The method of using acne cleansers is to clean the face with lukewarm water and then apply acne cleansers to the face and neck. Next, wash it with lukewarm water and then pat dry.
Acne lotions are oil and water emulsions that are meant to be applied to unbroken skin. Acne lotions are usually treated with acne medications such as antibiotics, skin peels, retinoids or antibiotics. Acne lotions may also contain soothing or protective ingredients. Acne lotions have the advantage over creams or ointments in that they can be applied thinly over large areas and are therefore economical.
