Intrinsic Asthma - Medicinal Plants
The word asthma comes from Greek and is defined as episodes of difficulty breathing due to narrowing of the airways of the lungs. Asthma occurs in people of all ages and all races. This means that asthma poses a risk for different people. Asthma is a chronic condition that doesn't end in a day or two. The asthma patients need continuous attention and proper treatment is necessary to prevent this disease.
Asthma can be mainly divided into two parts; intrinsic and extrinsic. As the name suggests, intrinsic asthma is caused by internal factors while extrinsic asthma is caused by external factors. Internal factors include triggers such as exercise, stress, respiratory infections, air pollution, chemical exposure and many more. The origin of intrinsic asthma is still not clear why it is caused. Extrinsic asthma is triggered by external factors such as pollen, trees, mold, animal hair and dust mites.
There is no suitable method available to prevent intrinsic asthma, but many people prefer to use medicinal plants for healing. The medicinal plants have no side effects and can be used sparingly. One such medicinal plant is garlic. People suffering from asthma attacks should mix it with boiled milk and then drink it. This will relieve the asthma attack immediately. Turmeric is also considered the most valuable medicinal plant. It should also be taken twice a day with a glass of milk. Mustard oil is used as a massage oil. It is applied to the patient's chest with the addition of camphor. It eases the breathing pattern and loosens the mucus in the chest. Ginger is also the best herbal medicine for preventing asthma attacks. It not only helps the condition but also keeps it under control.
Various herbs mentioned in Ayurveda are Emblica, Shilajit, Sanctm, Myrobalan, Chebulic, Inula Helenium, Glychyrrhiza glabra, Verbascum and many more. These herbs are mixed with different herbal medicines in different proportions and are useful in controlling the asthma symptoms. They expand the airways and facilitate the flow of air in the air tubes.
It is important to consult a doctor before switching to one of these medicinal plants. Therefore, asthma can be cured not only by artificial medicines, but also by herbs and plants. As it is always said that plants are good friends of man, this thing proves the fact.
