Ways to prevent asthma attacks

Asthma attacks can be frightening for both children and adults. Some of the things that can be done to keep them at bay include:

No cold air

Protect yourself as much as possible from breathing in cold air. If you live in a warm climate area, this may not be a big problem for you. However, if you live in an area where you normally experience winter, this will be a challenge.

However, if you are outdoors, always go with a hat and scarf or something that will help keep the breeze off your face and make sure you cover your nose area.

Avoid smoke

Keep away from anything that gives off smoke. This includes tobacco products and vehicle exhaust fumes. If you regularly use public transport, don't forget that you will pass people smoking cigarettes, etc. along the way.

It's best to keep an eye out for these things rather than waiting until you can smell the first scent of them to move away from the area.

Avoid chemical ones

Also keep away from chemicals. Some chemical smells are stronger than others, but they are no less dangerous. If you must use one of these products, make sure you stop your noise from inhaling in the ducts and stay away from the area until the smell is completely gone.

Some household products are very strong, such as bleach. If you must use it, try diluting it first before using it.

Strong smells

There is no difference when it comes to strong smells, such as perfume. Therefore, be very careful when testing them.

Cold and cough medicines

Do not take over-the-counter medications unless your doctor has given you the go-ahead to do so. This could actually cause what you are trying to prevent to actually happen. Therefore, if you have a cold, talk to your doctor about it before doing anything else.

Reduce stress

Stress is also something to keep in mind when cutting back, as it can certainly cause your body to shut down.

So if you work in a very stressful job, stress management is certainly appropriate.

Use humidifier

It's a good idea to have a humidifier in your home. This helps keep the room at an appropriate temperature. If humility is too much for you, before going to bed, don't forget to put them on a few minutes before entering the room.
