Diabetes - the royal disease
It's just a new phenomenon that we see people around us with bulging bellies who are reluctant to move up the stairs. This was probably not the condition a decade ago. To some extent this change was inevitable as we suddenly replaced our staple diet with burgers, fries and pizza. The excessive consumption of fat, which increases the level of carbohydrates in our body, makes us obese and incapacitated, and this has made us vulnerable to diseases such as diabetes. This could undoubtedly be due to our changing eating habits. The main symptoms of diabetes are often fatigue, brain fog, sleepiness, and low and high blood pressure. This is the most common disease in the body today.
Although carbohydrates are the basic requirement of the body, due to the change in our food components, we consume much more than the required amount of the carbohydrate. Since the body's storage capacity for carbohydrate is limited, the excess carbohydrate is converted into fat in fatty tissue with the help of insulin (a hormone secreted by the pancreas). Insulin helps lower blood sugar levels. An excess of body glucose that cannot be stored by the insulin hormone leads to diabetes. It increases blood pressure and also sugar levels. Insulin is thus injected into the body to lower blood sugar levels.
Caution should also be exercised when injecting insulin. High insulin levels can lead to very low blood sugar levels, causing low blood pressure, and also suppresses the function of two important hormones, glucagon and growth hormone. Therefore, it is advisable to eat less foods with excess fat, especially junk foods. This would keep us fit and free from diabetes.
