Prolapsed hemorrhoids
Prolapsed hemorrhoids are a medical condition and can be defined as swollen or enlarged veins that appear around the anus region. Prolapsed hemorrhoids are often characterized by key symptoms such as itching, painful irritation, and mild to heavy bleeding from the anus. This leads to an uncomfortable feeling in the anus region. As it is, the condition can be broadly divided into two categories i.e. internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. In the case of internal hemorrhoids, the swelling of the veins takes place in the anus; whereas in external hemorrhoids, the swelling occurs outside the anus.
Under normal circumstances, the internal hemorrhoids do not appear from the anus. However, when the hemorrhoids become excessively enlarged, in this case they tend to bulge out of the anus. Such a situation is called prolapsed hemorrhoids. In this condition, the protrusions appear as a group of soft tissues; which have a reddish color. They are moist and usually covered with rectal mucus. Initially the condition itself is not painful. However, when the condition becomes severe, which is usually the case in later stages, in which case they bulge completely out of the anus. This can further lead to blood clotting, which would lead to a condition called thrombosed hemorrhoids.
This condition is due to poor dietary habits, age, heredity factors, and pregnancy, among many other factors. As it is, all remedies and treatments used to treat normal hemorrhoids can also be used to treat prolapsed hemorrhoids. These therapies usually revolve around natural procedures such as: B. increasing the intake of fiber-rich foods, increasing fluid intake, avoiding addiction to alcohol, tobacco or smoking, and getting proper exercise. Apart from this, warm water baths, applying ice packs to the affected area and applying creams and ointments to the affected area are other remedies for this condition.
However, if the condition is very serious, in that case surgery is the only option that can work. In order to decide the course of treatment, the severity of the disease must be assessed. The condition can be classified into four degrees i.e. first degree, second degree, third degree as well as fourth degree. In the first degree, the protrusion does not bulge out of the anus. In the second degree, it protrudes from the anus but moves in and out of the rectal opening without manual intervention. In the third degree, the hemorrhoids protrude from the anus and must be inserted manually into the anus. The fourth degree is the most severe condition in which the protrusion cannot even be inserted manually. In such a condition, surgery is the only option.
