How to Get Rid of Hemorrhoids - Three Strategies to Get Fast Relief

Hemorrhoids occur whenever the veins found in the rectum become excited and inflamed. They typically develop due to heavy straining during a bowel movement.

Piles or hemorrhoids can affect people of all ages. However, as we age, the likelihood of them occurring increases dramatically.

Experts estimate that about fifty percent of people will experience the pain of hemorrhoids at some point in their lives. The best part is that most cases of piles are usually not extreme and can be treated with over-the-counter medications or non-invasive medical procedures.

Understanding how to treat hemorrhoids isn't really a challenge. Many of the absolute best and most successful home remedies for piles are very simple and inexpensive. This article shows some simple methods to maintain comfort from piles.

Ice pack

Using an ice pack to combat pain and discomfort from external piles is a really simple, yet reliable way to achieve instant results. It's easy to create ice packs using ground ice from your freezer or purchased from your local retailer.

A cold compress should be applied at 10 to 15 minute intervals. Crushed ice should be used as often as necessary during the day.

Warm Epsom salt bath

A warm and comfortable bath can be a lifesaver when treating stacking episodes. Relaxing in a warm and comfortable tub of water not only reduces sensitivity, itching and discomfort, but also reduces swelling.

To make it more beneficial, add a bit of Epsom salt to the bathtub. Epsom salt has been used for countless years to relieve pain, cramps, and swelling.

When adding Epsom salt to your warm sitz bath, it should be 1 cup full. If you are drawing a regular bath instead of just the amount required to hide the hemorrhoid spot, add two or more cups of Epsom salts. Soak in heated water for at least 20 minutes. As with regular sitz baths, you should try this a few times a day.

When you get out of the bathroom, dry the area completely with a clean washcloth. It may even be helpful to add a touch of petroleum jelly to your hemorrhoids. This will help you reduce some of the irritation and pain.

Many hemorrhoid sufferers experience much less swelling and pain after taking a warm bath for a few days.

Non-prescription painkillers

You can also find comfort through discomfort by using non-prescription pain relievers like Motrin and Tylenol. For anyone struggling with pile pain and swelling, products like ibuprofen and naproxen contain ingredients that relieve these symptoms.

Over-the-counter pain relievers can be used to relieve pain to normal levels. Just follow the instructions on the bottle.

If the pain and swelling of hemorrhoids is truly extreme, you can take painkillers along with other hemorrhoid treatment options such as using ice and warm sitz baths. Remember to only use painkillers when absolutely needed.

These solutions are simply several of countless remedies for treating hemorrhoids. If given continuously during an episode, they may be able to significantly help you significantly reduce the pain and suffering you may be experiencing. Nevertheless, these methods are intended to help relieve pain in an episode, but they do not prevent hemorrhoids from recurring.
