But EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly referred to as tapping, works very well for pain relief.
It's a strange-looking method that requires you to name the problem you're experiencing when you tap certain points on your face and upper body.

But here's the deal. You usually feel much better!
And it works for skeptics, unbelievers, babies, pets, and pretty much everyone else.
Why is that?
Although I am not a doctor and have no claim to medical or psychological qualifications, I would like to share my opinion on why and how tapping works.
I believe it works because it reduces stress. And stress makes everything worse, including physical pain.
The stress relief points you tap are on the same energy meridians that acupuncturists use in their healing craft.
That's about the extent of my understanding of acupuncture. My specialty is tapping.
And tapping is something I've done with hundreds of clients and students over the past seven years - with great success for back pain, migraines, grief, anger, anxiety, resentment, traumatic memories, and much more.
Here I am sharing with you an EFT pain relief script that you can use to relieve your physical pain.
Typing for Pain Script
Constantly tap the Karate Chop Point.
Even though I'm in pain, I accept myself.
Repeat three times.
Tap through the dots
Start at the eyebrow point and tap the points above the face, up to the forearm point, and then up to the top of the head. Start again at the eyebrow point.
Tap an instruction at each tap point.
I'm in pain here.
It hurts!
All this pain
All this discomfort
I don't like it.
I don't like being in pain.
It disrupts my life.
It prevents me from feeling joy.
It prevents me from doing what I want to do.
What if this pain is trying to tell me something?
I want to be open to this information
Maybe I need to know something
Maybe I need to take care of something
Maybe I want to avoid something
A different pain that I don't want to feel
Or it distracts me from this greater pain
What if I could take care of what needs to get done?
Feel all the emotions hidden by this physical pain
What if I could relax now?
Some of this pain may be due to stress and tension
What if I could reduce the stress?
I give my body and mind permission to release this stress and tension now
Release the tension
Allow me to relax
I release all mental reasons for this pain
I release all emotional reasons for this pain
I release all physical reasons for this pain
As far back as they go
I let go of the need for pain
I now let go of any need for pain
I'm ready to feel good
I want to feel good
Maybe there were people in my life who hurt me
Who could possibly have wanted me to be in pain for any reason?
I let go of any need for pain
What if I could feel worthy of comfort?
I'm letting go of all doubts about it now
I am ready to take the best possible care of myself
I choose to feel as good as possible
I let my body relax
And release tension and stress
I relax in peace
I relax in love
I choose to feel peace throughout my entire body
I choose to feel good
Take a gentle, deep breath.
