The University of Plymouth and International Osteopathic Education (IOE) have formed a new partnership that will provide world-class training to aspiring osteopaths from around the world.

The organizations – both internationally known for quality healthcare education – have developed a rigorous and comprehensive Master of Osteopathic Medicine (MOstM) program.

Those who enroll in the program, which is validated and awarded by the University of Plymouth, will complete five years of flexible study.

You will benefit from clinical training at the IOE educational clinic in Bordeaux, France, as well as international partner clinics, medical centers and research laboratories, offering an unrivaled and comprehensive training program.

Graduates of the program can integrate into the world of medicine through an interdisciplinary practice and deal with all areas of health: pediatrics, neurology, rheumatology, orthopedics, obstetrics, gastroenterology, otolaryngology, orthodontics and clinical research.

Professor Bob Fern, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health at the University of Plymouth, said:"As a major healthcare education provider, we are always looking for opportunities to expand our expertise. This new project with International Osteopathic Education complements our existing academic programs and allows us to expand our healthcare offerings both geographically and into new specialties." I am pleased that this new partnership will enable students from across Europe and beyond to receive a high quality education.”

Dr. Vincent Staf, director of studies at International Osteopathic Education in France, said: “Developed by the University of Plymouth and International Osteopathic Education, the Master's program in Osteopathic Medicine is the result of more than 20 years of experience in osteopathic training in France, Europe and beyond. This integrated university master's program is unique in both its design and its pedagogical technology. It provides students with expertise in clinical learning and research into etiological factors of functional and systemic pathologies.

"The IOE and the University of Plymouth have worked for more than two years to develop this project, enabling students with a passion for osteopathy to join our institutions, regardless of their country or continent. We are very proud to be part of this unprecedented development of osteopathy on an international level." recognized university institution.

The MOstM is an integrated master's program with a training model and teaching units that meet international standards for osteopathy training.

Although this does not lead to specific registration, the qualification is intended to enable graduates to treat all types of medical conditions. The plan is for them to apply to a regulator and then choose from a range of locations where they can work.

Students learn the fundamentals of human health, with the course covering elements of physiology, anatomy, biomechanics and clinical examinations.

You will also develop a detailed understanding of osteopathic tests, techniques and treatments and their correct application in clinical settings.

Taken together, this will enable them to become responsible general practitioners, able to treat a wide range of pathologies thanks to their expertise and clinical skills.
