New R+V app: Digital health for 1.7 million insured people

Integration of digital health services

R+V Krankenversicherung recently created a new contact point for its insured persons: the “R+V Gesundheit” app. This application was specifically developed to meet the needs of approximately 1.7 million fully and additionally insured customers and goes beyond the functionality of simple invoice submission.

Response to customer requests

The app replaces the previous “R+V-Scan App”, which has already been downloaded 350,000 times. Last year, users sent 1.2 million receipts digitally to R+V via this app. The new version was developed to respond to customer feedback and offers, among other things, improved user navigation and higher performance. It is now also possible to submit invoices and receipts via a PDF upload.

Advanced features for a broader audience

Stefan Huhn, CEO of R+V Krankenversicherung AG, emphasizes that the app is not only a tool for quickly processing inquiries, but is also intended to serve as a platform for more comprehensive digital services. These include innovative offers such as the “R+V-Family Coach”, which supports young parents during pregnancy and the first few years with their child, and the “R+V-Best Specialist”, which helps select a specialist or clinic in serious illnesses.

Digital health services in focus

The “R+V Family Coach” offers valuable support and resources, including advice on family planning, digital midwifery assistance and speech therapy support for small children. These services aim to optimize healthcare for families and simplify access to relevant information.

The “R+V-Best Specialist” offers valuable support for insured persons who find themselves in challenging situations. This service aims to help those affected find appropriate medical facilities and specialists, thereby ensuring better care.

Important deadlines and outlook

R+V policyholders still have the opportunity to use the old “R+V-Scan app” until September 30, 2024. From then on, the new app, which will be continuously developed, will be the central contact point for all of R+V's digital health services.

Through the combination of technological innovations and a clear focus on the needs of the insured, R+V Krankenversicherung is taking a significant step towards modern, digitalized healthcare.
