General practitioner Geiselmann resigns: Sebastian Seidel takes over the practice!

The outgoing family doctor Thomas Geiselmann will hand over his possible successor in the practice at Schloßstrasse 8 in Rosenfeld to Sebastian Seidel from Balingen at the beginning of the year. Geiselmann served as a family doctor in Rosenfeld for over 30 years and was an integral part of the community. His decision to leave was not easy, but the challenges of modern healthcare and increasing bureaucratization led him to retire.

In recent decades, Geiselmann has been valued in the region not only for his professional skills, but also for his personal approach to patients. His ability to clearly explain often complicated medical information has earned him much respect. As a country doctor, he had a large patient base that reached into the neighboring districts of Rottweil and Tübingen.

A new beginning for Sebastian Seidel

Sebastian Seidel, the new family doctor, comes to the practice with solid training and a lot of enthusiasm. At the age of 40, Seidel has already gained experience in various areas, particularly in gastroenterology and emergency medicine, where he worked as an assistant doctor. His training as a physiotherapist also gives him a unique perspective on the holistic care of his future patients. He was born in Marburg, Hesse, but grew up in Rottenburg and is now fulfilling his dream of taking responsibility for his own practice.

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge,” says Seidel, emphasizing that contact with patients is very important to him. His goal is to maintain the usual structures of the practice while at the same time being prepared to introduce new impulses. The support of the experienced team, which has worked together for many years, also gives him confidence for a smooth transition.

Thomas Geiselmann's legacy

Geiselmann, who has completed numerous additional training courses in areas such as palliative and travel medicine, can look back on a fulfilling career. His patients have also benefited greatly from his commitment as an emergency doctor and his work in the palliative care group at SAPV Hechingen. “I am proud of what I have achieved,” explains Geiselmann and is retiring with positive memories of his time as a family doctor.

One of his final challenges in practice was the increasing administrative burden, which often frustrated him. “I once had to pay back a lot of money because I had worked too much,” he remembers. Despite these hurdles, Geiselmann is now looking forward to new adventures, including a bicycle trip from Rosenfeld to Cabo Sao Vicente in Portugal, which highlights his active life experience.

The way Geiselmann ended his career fulfills the wish of many to have found a successor who will care for the patients he cared for for so long. Sebastian Seidel will ensure that Geiselmann's tradition continues while at the same time bringing in a breath of fresh air. The medical offering will be retained, and with another short phase of settling into the established practice, Seidel will be able to fulfill his new role in Rosenfeld.
