Muldentalkliniken before sale: Employees surprisingly agree!
The sale of the Muldental clinics in Wurzen and Grimma is taking concrete shape. According to a report by the South German newspaper Approval for the sale to Sana-Kliniken AG was granted, if necessary on the condition that the cartel office approves. A crucial step in this process was employees agreeing to new employment contracts, although this entails a salary reduction of eight percent.
Almost 97 percent of employees agreed to a change to their contracts to ensure the continued existence of their jobs. The district administrator, Henry Graichen, thanked for this vote result, which has a direct impact on the sale to Sana-Kliniken AG MDR news site reported.
In this context, the Leipzig district is planning extensive financial measures: one million euros will be made available to cushion the financial cuts suffered by employees. Furthermore, a sum of around 5.08 million euros is planned so that Sana-Kliniken AG can take over the Muldentalkliniken debt-free. This includes loans and coverage of legal and court costs.
More details about the sales process
The employees of the Muldentalkliniken are currently paid according to the public service tariff, while Sana-Kliniken AG has its own in-house tariff. However, the takeover by the company still needs to be approved by the cartel office. The district will also provide financial subsidies to process the sale of the clinic and convert another five million euros as a loan in order to dissolve or replace existing loan agreements.
In addition, the district will be available to cover additional costs arising from the insolvency proceedings. Discussions are underway for an amount of 500,000 euros. The insolvency proceedings themselves are expected to be completed by mid-April.
