Bowel movements and health: This is how it affects your life expectancy!

A stunning new study shows that the frequency and consistency of bowel movements can provide profound clues about our health. Researchers led by Sean M. Gibbons at the University of Washington have found that bowel movements that are too infrequent or too frequent can pose serious health risks, including dementia. The study includes over 1,400 healthy Americans and sheds light on the connection between bowel movement frequency, the gut microbiome and chronic disease.

The results are alarming: a bowel movement frequency of one to two times a day is considered optimal and correlates with a healthy lifestyle and a lower risk of age-related diseases. In contrast, participants with abnormal bowel movements have markers of impaired organ function, suggesting possible organ damage. Constipation, classified as having bowel movements less than three times a week, can promote the buildup of toxic substances in the intestines, while frequent diarrhea can indicate high levels of inflammation in the blood and liver problems.

This may come as a surprise to many, but the study highlights the central role bowel movements play in our health! More information about these shocking results can be found here here.
