Before using Asceniv

When deciding whether to use a medicine, the risks of taking the medicine must be weighed against the benefits it produces. This is a decision that you and your doctor will make. The following should be noted with this medicine:

Allergies

Tell your doctor if you have ever had an unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicines. Also tell your doctor if you have other allergies, such as to foods, dyes, preservatives or animals. For over-the-counter products, read the label or package ingredients carefully.

Pediatrics

No relevant studies have been conducted on the association between age and the effects of immunoglobulin SLR injection in children under 3 years of age. Safety and effectiveness have not been established.

geriatrics

Related studies conducted to date have not shown any geriatric-specific problems that would limit the benefit of immunoglobulin SLR injection in the elderly. However, older patients are at higher risk of age-related liver, kidney, or heart problems, which may require caution and dose adjustment in patients receiving this drug.

Breastfeeding

There are insufficient studies in women to determine the risk to infants when using this drug while breast-feeding. Weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks before taking this medication while breastfeeding.

Drug interactions

Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines can be used together, although interactions may occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose or other precautions may be necessary. The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of this medicine. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

A doctor or other trained health professional will give you this medicine in a medical facility. It is given through a needle inserted into one of your veins.

Precautions when using Asceniv

It is very important that your doctor closely monitors you or your child's progress for possible problems that may be caused by this medicine. Blood and urine tests may be needed to check for adverse effects.

This medicine can cause a serious allergic reaction, including anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention. Tell your doctor right away if you experience rash, itching, hives, chest pain, dizziness or lightheadedness, trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling of your hands, face, or mouth after using this medication. Certain people, including those with IgA (an immunoglobulin) deficiency and antibodies to IgA and a history of hypersensitivity to human immunoglobulin products, should not use this medicine.

This medicine may increase your risk of developing blood clots. Contact your doctor immediately if you or your child have swelling and pain in your arms, legs, or stomach, chest pain, shortness of breath, loss of sensation, confusion, or problems with muscle control or speech.

Consult your doctor immediately if you experience a stiff neck, drowsiness, fever, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, painful eye movements, or eye sensitivity to light. These could be symptoms of a serious condition called aseptic meningitis syndrome (AMS).

Consult your doctor immediately if you notice red or dark brown urine, pain in the lower back or sides, sudden weight gain, swelling of the face, arms, or legs, decreased urine output, or problems urinating after taking this medication. These may be symptoms of serious kidney disease.

This medicine may cause bleeding (hemolysis) or hemolytic anemia. Tell your doctor immediately if you have stomach or back pain, dark urine, decreased urination, difficulty breathing, increased heart rate, tiredness, or yellow eyes or skin after taking this medication.

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience chest pain, difficulty breathing, rapid or noisy breathing, blue lips and fingernails, fever, pale skin, increased sweating, cough that sometimes produces pink, frothy sputum, or swelling of the legs and ankles after receiving this medication. These could be symptoms of a serious lung problem.

This medicine is made from donated human blood. Some human blood products have transmitted certain viruses to people who received them, although the risk is low. Both human donors and donated blood are tested for viruses to keep the risk of transmission low. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about this risk.

Make sure any doctor or dentist who treats you knows that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect the results of certain medical tests. While you are being treated with immunoglobulin injection, you must not have any vaccinations (vaccinations) without your doctor's approval.
