Warnings
Do not use this medicine if you are taking or have taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days. Dangerous drug interactions could occur. MAOIs include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine.
Before you take this medicine
You should not take Diabetic Tuss DM Maximum Strength if you are allergic to it.
Do not use Diabetic Tuss DM Maximum Strength if you are taking or have taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days. Dangerous drug interactions could occur. MAOIs include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe to use this medicine if you have:

a cough with phlegm; or

Asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis.
This medicine may contain phenylalanine and may be harmful if you have phenylketonuria (PKU).
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor before using this medicine.
How should I take Diabetic Tuss DM Maximum Strength?
Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor. Cold or cough medicines are for short-term use only.
Your dosage needs may change if you change to a different brand, strength, or form of this medication. Avoid medication errors by using it exactly as directed on the label or as directed by your doctor.
Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice. Follow all instructions when giving this medicine to a child.Do not use the medicine to make a child sleepy.Misuse of this drug can cause death in very young children.
Measure liquid medications using the measuring device provided (not a kitchen spoon).
You may need to shake the liquid before measuring a dose. Follow all label instructions.
Swallow thatExtended-release tabletStore whole and do not crush, chew or break.
Dissolve the effervescent tablets in at least 110 ml of water. Stir and drink immediately. Add more water to the glass, swirl, and drink.
Sprinkle the granules directly on your tongue and swallow immediately.
While taking this medication, drink additional fluids to relieve congestion and lubricate your throat.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 7 days or if you have a fever, rash, or headache.

What happens if I miss a dose?
Diabetic Tuss DM Maximum Strength is used when necessary. If you are following a dosing schedule, skip the missed dose. Do not use two doses at the same time.
