What is Doc Plus?

Dok Plus is a combination medicine used to treat occasional constipation.

Dok Plus can also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Side effects of Dok Plus

Dok Plus can have serious side effects. Stop using Dok Plus and call your doctor immediately if you have:

• rectal bleeding;

• severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting; or

• no bowel movements.

Common side effects of Dok Plus may include:

• flatulence, flatulence;

• Diarrhea; or

• slight nausea.

Before you take this medicine

You should not use Dok Plus if you are allergic to docusate or senna or if you are also taking mineral oil.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist whether it is safe to use this medicine if you have ever had:

• nausea or vomiting;

• stomach pain;

• a sudden change in bowel habits that lasts 2 weeks or longer; or

• an intestinal disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor before using this medicine.

Do not give this medicine to a child under 2 years of age without medical advice.

How should I use Dok Plus?

Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor.

Take Dok Plus with a full glass of water.

It may be best to take this medicine at night or before bed. Dok Plus should cause you to have a bowel movement within 6 to 12 hours.

Do not take Dok Plus for more than 7 days in a row unless your doctor recommends it.

Call your doctor if your constipation does not improve or worsens after taking Dok Plus.

Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Because Dok Plus is used as needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not use two doses at the same time.

What happens if I overdose?

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222.

Symptoms of an overdose may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or diarrhea.

What should I avoid when using Dok Plus?

Consult a doctor or pharmacist before using other laxatives or other stool softeners that may contain docusate or senna-like ingredients.

What other medications will affect Dok Plus?

Other medications can affect Dok Plus, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell your doctor about all medications you are currently taking and any medications you are taking or stopping.
