What is Drysol?
Drysol (for skin) is used to treat excessive sweating, also called hyperhidrosis.
Drysol may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Side effects of Drysol

Drysol can cause serious side effects. Call your doctor immediately if you have:

severe burning, redness or swelling of the treated skin. 
Common side effects of Drysol may include:
- 
Itching or slight burning of the treated skin; or 
- 
Tingling or prickly feeling.

Warnings
Follow all instructions on the label and packaging of your medicine. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies and any medications you take.
Before you take this medicine
You should not use Drysol if you are allergic to it.
Tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How should I use Drysol?
Follow all instructions on your prescription label and read any medication guides or instructions for use. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Do not take orally. Topical medicines should only be used on the skin. Do not use on broken or recently shaved skin.
For best results, apply the medicine before bed and leave it on your skin for 6 to 8 hours.
Carefully read and follow all instructions for use that come with your medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you do not understand these instructions.
Wash and dry skin completely before applying Drysol. If necessary, dry the skin with a hairdryer on the warm setting.
To apply the medicine, use the applicator that came with your medicine or a cotton ball.
After using under the armpits: Wear a T-shirt to prevent the medicine from staining your bed linen.
After use on hands or feet: Wrap your hands or feet in plastic wrap and cover them with cotton gloves or socks. Leave gloves or socks on when sleeping.
After use on the scalp: Wear a plastic shower cap to bed to prevent the medicine from transferring to your bedding.
In the morning, remove the covering from the treated skin areas, wash or shampoo the skin thoroughly and then dry it with a towel. Do not reuse plastic wrap for further applications. You can rinse and reuse the plastic shower cap.
Keep the bottle tightly closed at room temperature and away from heat or open flames. This medicine contains alcohol and is flammable. The medicine evaporates quickly when exposed to air.
Do not share this medicine with anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular time. Do not use two doses at the same time.
What happens if I overdose?
An overdose of Drysol is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222 if someone accidentally swallows the medication.
What should I avoid when using aluminum chloride hexahydrate?
Do not apply other deodorants or antiperspirants while using Drysol.
Avoid getting Drysol in your eyes, mouth, nose, or lips. In case of contact, rinse with water.
This medicine may discolor certain types of substances or metals that it comes into contact with.
What other drugs will affect Drysol?
The medicine used on the skin is unlikely to be affected by other medicines you use. But many medications can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products.
