What is Clear Eyes + Redness Relief?

Clear Eyes + Redness Relief (for the eye) is intended to provide temporary relief from minor eye redness or discomfort caused by minor irritants.

Clear Eyes + Redness Relief may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Clear eyes + redness relief side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these problemsSigns of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using Clear Eyes + Redness Relief and call your doctor immediately if you have:

• persistent or worsening eye redness;

• eye pain;

• changes in your vision;

• chest pain, fast or uneven heartbeat; or

• severe headache, ringing in the ears, anxiety, confusion, or shortness of breath.

Common side effects of Clear Eyes + Redness Relief may include:

• slight burning or stinging in the eye;

• blurred vision, watery eyes; or

• mild headache, dizziness, nervousness.

Clear Eyes + Redness Relief is intended to provide temporary relief from minor eye redness or discomfort caused by minor irritants.

You should not use Clear Eyes + Redness Relief if you have angle-closure glaucoma.

Stop using Clear Eyes + Redness Relief and call your doctor immediately if you experience persistent or worsening eye redness, eye pain, vision problems, severe dizziness or headache, ringing in the ears, or shortness of breath.

Before you take this medicine

You should not use Clear Eyes + Redness Relief if you are allergic to it or have angle-closure glaucoma.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to take this medicine if you have other medical conditions, especially:

• heart disease, high blood pressure;

• Diabetes;

• a thyroid disease; or

• an eye injury or infection.

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Clear Eyes + Redness Relief will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.

It is not known whether Naphazoline ophthalmic passes into breast milk or whether it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby.

How should I use Clear Eyes + Redness Relief?

Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller quantities or for longer than recommended.

Taking the medication for too long or too often may worsen your symptoms and cause damage to the blood vessels in your eyes.

Wash your hands before using the eye drops.

How to use the eye drops:

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down to create a small pocket. Hold the pipette over the eye with the tip pointing downwards. Look up and away from the pipette and squeeze out a drop.

• Close your eye and gently press your finger on the inner corner of your eye for about a minute to prevent the fluid from draining into your tear duct.

• Use only the recommended number of drops.

Do not touch the tip of the eyedropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated eyedropper can infect your eye and cause serious vision problems.

Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed color or contains particles.

Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat. Do not freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Because Clear Eyes + Redness Relief is used as needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are on a schedule, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

An overdose of Naphazoline ophthalmic is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222 if someone accidentally swallows the medication.

Keep Clear Eyes + Redness Relief out of the reach of children. Certain eye medications can cause serious medical problems in a young child who accidentally sucks on the eye drop bottle or swallows the medicine.

What should I avoid when using Clear Eyes + Redness Relief?

Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses. Clear Eyes + Redness Relief may contain a preservative that may discolor soft contact lenses. After using this medicine, wait at least 15 minutes before putting in your contact lenses.

What other drugs will affect Clear Eyes + Redness Relief?

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to use Clear Eyes + Redness Relief if you are also taking any of the following medicines:

• an antidepressant – amitriptyline, clomipramine, desipramine, desvenlafaxine, doxepin, duloxetine, imipramine, maprotiline, milnacipran, nortriptyline, venlafaxine;

• Ergot drugs – ergotamine, dihydroergotamine, ergonovine, methylergonovine; or

• an MAO inhibitor – furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine.

This list is not complete and other medications may interact with Clear Eyes + Redness Relief. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take. This includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin and herbal products. Do not start taking a new medication without telling your doctor.
