What is Liquidid PD?
There are many brands and forms of guaifenesin and phenylephrine and not all brands are listed in this leaflet.
Liquibid-PD may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Side effects of Liquidid-PD
If necessary, get emergency medical helpSigns of an allergic reaction: Hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.
Liquidid-PD can have serious side effects. Stop using Liquibid-PD and call your doctor immediately if you have:

Nervousness, dizziness, sleep disorders (insomnia).
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You can report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Warnings
Do not use Liquibid-PD if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days. Dangerous drug interactions could occur. MAOIs include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine.
Taking more than the recommended dose does not increase the effectiveness of Liquibid-PD and may cause serious side effects.
Before you take this medicine
Do not use Liquibid-PD if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days. Dangerous drug interactions could occur. MAOIs include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine. Wait at least 14 days after stopping an MAOI before taking this medication.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:

high blood pressure;

heart disease;
-
Diabetes;
-
a thyroid disease;
-
problems urinating due to an enlarged prostate; or
-
Cough with mucus or chronic cough caused by smoking, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or other breathing disorders.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before using this medicine.
Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.
How should I take Liquidid-PD?
Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor. Cold or cough medicines are for short-term use only.
Follow all instructions when giving Liquibid-PD to a child.Do not use the medicine to make a child sleepy.Misuse of this drug can cause death in very young children.
Measure liquid medications using the measuring device provided (not a kitchen spoon).
Take thattabletwith a full glass of water.
Your dosage needs may change if you change to a different brand, strength, or form of this medication. Avoid medication errors by using it exactly as directed on the label or as directed by your doctor.
Taking more than the recommended dose does not increase the effectiveness of this drug and may cause serious side effects.
Stop using this medicine and call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 7 days or worsen, or if you also have a fever, rash, or headache.
Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Liquibid-PD is used when necessary. If you are following a dosing schedule, skip the missed dose. Do not use two doses at the same time.
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222.
What should I avoid while taking Liquibid-PD?
Consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking other cough or cold medicines that may contain similar ingredients.
What other drugs will affect Liquibid-PD?
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using other medicines that may cause drowsiness (e.g., opioid medications, sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, or anti-anxiety or seizure medications). Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal products. Not all possible interactions are listed here.
