What is Natura Lax?
Natura-Lax is used as a laxative to treat occasional constipation or irregular bowel movements.
Natura-Lax may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Side effects of Natura-Lax

Stop taking Natura-Lax and call your doctor immediately if you have:

severe or bloody diarrhea;

rectal bleeding;

blood in stool; or
-
severe and worsening stomach pain.
Common side effects of Natura-Lax can include:

Bloating, flatulence, stomach discomfort;

Dizziness; or
-
increased sweating.

Warnings
You should not use this medicine if you have an intestinal obstruction or blockage. If you have any of these conditions, you may experience dangerous or life-threatening side effects from Natura-Lax.
Do not use Natura-Lax more than once a day. Call your doctor if you still experience constipation or irregularity after taking this medication for 7 days.
Before you take this medicine
You should not use Natura-Lax if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol or if you have an intestinal obstruction or obstruction. If you have any of these conditions, you may experience dangerous or life-threatening side effects from Natura-Lax.
People with eating disorders (such as anorexia or bulimia) should not take this medication without medical advice.
To make sure this medicine is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

nausea, vomiting or severe stomach pain;

ulcerative colitis;

irritable bowel syndrome;

kidney disease; or
-
if you have experienced a sudden change in your bowel habits that lasts 2 weeks or longer.
FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Natura-Lax will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.
It is not known whether polyethylene glycol 3350 passes into breast milk or whether it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby.
How should I take Natura-Lax?
Follow all instructions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
To use the powder form of this medication, measure your dose using the medicine cap on the bottle. This cap should contain dose markings on the inside. Pour the powder into 4 to 8 ounces of a cold or hot beverage such as water, juice, soda, coffee, or tea. Stir this mixture and drink it immediately. Do not save for later use.
Natura-Lax should produce a bowel movement within 1 to 3 days of taking the medication. This medicine usually causes loose or even watery stools.
Do not use Natura-Lax more than once a day. Call your doctor if you still experience constipation or irregularity after taking this medication for 7 days.
Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222.
What should I avoid when taking Natura-Lax?
Follow your doctor's instructions regarding any food, drink, or activity restrictions.
What other medications affect Natura-Lax?
Other medications may interact with polyethylene glycol 3350, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medications you are taking now and any medications you are starting or stopping taking.
