Before using netarsudil and latanoprost

When deciding whether to use a medicine, the risks of taking the medicine must be weighed against the benefits it produces. This is a decision that you and your doctor will make. The following should be noted with this medicine:

Allergies

Tell your doctor if you have ever had an unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicines. Also tell your doctor if you have other allergies, such as to foods, dyes, preservatives or animals. For over-the-counter products, read the label or package ingredients carefully.

Pediatrics

No appropriate studies have been conducted on the relationship between age and the effects of the combination of netarsudil and latanoprost eye drops in children and adolescents. Safety and effectiveness have not been established.

geriatrics

Studies conducted to date have not shown any geriatric-specific problems that would limit the benefit of combined netarsudil and latanoprost eye drops in the elderly.

Drug interactions

Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines can be used together, although interactions may occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose or other precautions may be necessary. Tell your doctor if you are taking other prescription or nonprescription (over-the-counter [OTC]) medicine.

Interactions with food/tobacco/alcohol

Certain medicines should not be taken during or around the time of eating or consuming certain foods because interactions may occur. Consuming alcohol or tobacco with certain medications can also lead to interactions. Discuss using your medicine with food, alcohol or tobacco with your doctor.

Other medical problems

The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of this medicine. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

• Aphakie (keine Linse im Auge) oder
• Augenentzündung (z. B. Iritis oder Uveitis), Vorgeschichte oder
• Herpes-simplex-Augeninfektion, Vorgeschichte von oder
• Patienten mit zerrissenen Kunstlinsen: Vorsicht bei der Anwendung. Kann diese Bedingungen verschlimmern.

Proper use of netarsudil and latanoprost

Use this medicine only as directed by your doctor. Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for longer than prescribed by your doctor. This may increase the risk of side effects.

How to use the eye drops:

• Waschen Sie Ihre Hände vor und nach der Anwendung dieses Arzneimittels mit Wasser und Seife.
• Neigen Sie den Kopf nach hinten. Drücken Sie Ihren Finger sanft auf die Haut direkt unter dem unteren Augenlid und ziehen Sie das untere Augenlid vom Auge weg, um eine Lücke zu schaffen. Lassen Sie das Arzneimittel in diesen Raum fallen. Lassen Sie das Augenlid los und schließen Sie sanft die Augen. Nicht blinken. Halten Sie die Augen geschlossen und üben Sie 1 bis 2 Minuten lang mit dem Finger Druck auf den inneren Augenwinkel aus, damit das Arzneimittel vom Auge aufgenommen werden kann.

The amount of medicine you take depends on the strength of the medicine. In addition, the number of doses you take each day, the time between doses, and how long you take the medicine depend on the medical problem for which you are using the medicine.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of this medication, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

Keep away from children.

Do not keep medications that are outdated or no longer needed.

Ask your doctor how to throw away medicines you don't use.

Store in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.

You can also store it at room temperature or higher for up to 14 days when traveling. Keep the opened bottle until the expiration date.

Precautions when using netarsudil and latanoprost

It is very important that your ophthalmologist (eye doctor) checks your progress at regular visits to make sure this medicine is working properly and to check for unwanted effects.

If itching, redness, swelling, or other signs of eye or eyelid irritation occur, contact your doctor immediately.

This medicine contains latanoprost, which may cause the iris (the colored part) of your treated eye to turn browner. This is more likely if you have blue-brown, gray-brown, green-brown, or yellow-brown eyes. You will usually notice this change within a few months or years of starting treatment. You may also experience a darkening of the skin color of the eyelids or longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes. These changes to the iris, eyelids, and eyelashes may remain permanent even if you stop using this medicine. However, each of these changes only affects the eye being treated. Ask your doctor if you have any concerns about this.

Side effects of netarsudil and latanoprost

In addition to the necessary effects, a medicine may also have some undesirable effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, medical attention may be required if they occur.
