What is Reyvow?
Reyvow is used in adults to treat migraine headaches with or without aura.
Reyvow is intended only for the treatment and not the prevention of migraine headaches.
Warnings
Reyvow is a federally controlled substance (CV) because it contains lasmiditan, which can be a target for people who abuse prescription medications or street drugs.
Keep this medicine in a safe place to prevent it from being stolen. Never give your Reyvow to others as it could harm them.Selling or giving away Reyvow is illegal.Tell your doctor if you have ever abused or been dependent on alcohol, prescription medications, or street drugs.
Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
Do not drive or do other dangerous activities for at least 8 hours after taking Reyvow.
Before you take this medicine
To make sure Reyvow is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

an allergy to lasmiditan;
-
liver disease;
-
slow heartbeat;
-
high blood pressure; or
-
Drug addiction.
Make sure your doctor knows if you also take stimulants, opioid medications, herbal products, or medications for depression, mental illness, Parkinson's disease, migraines, serious infections, or to prevent nausea and vomiting. These medicines can interact with lasmiditan and cause a serious condition called serotonin syndrome.
If you are pregnant, your name may be listed on a pregnancy registry to track the effects of lasmiditan on the baby.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. It is not known whether lasmiditan will harm an unborn child. However, migraine headaches during pregnancy can lead to complications such as eclampsia (dangerous high blood pressure that can lead to medical problems in both mother and baby). The benefits of migraine treatment may outweigh the risks to the baby.
Breastfeeding may not be safe while using this medication. Ask your doctor about any risks.
How should I take Reyvow?
Take Reyvow exactly as your doctor has told you. Follow the instructions on your prescription label and read any medication guides or instructions for use. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose.
Reyvow can be habit forming.Abuse can lead to addiction, overdose or death.Store the medication in a place where others cannot reach it. Selling or giving away this medicine is unlawful.
Take Reyvow as soon as you notice a headache.
Swallow the tablet whole and do not crush, chew or break it.
Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
You can take this medicine with or without food.
Never use more than the recommended dose. Overuse of migraine medications can make headaches worse. Tell your doctor if the medicine no longer seems to be effective in treating your migraine attacks.
Call your doctor if your headaches don't go away completely or if you have more than 4 headaches in a month (30 days).
Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.
Keep track of your medications. You should be aware if someone uses it improperly or without a prescription.
Dosage information
Usual adult dosage for migraines:
Starting dose: 50 mg, 100 mg or 200 mg orally once
Maximum dose: 1 dose per day
Comments:
-This medication should not be taken unless the patient can wait 8 hours or longer before driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
– No more than 1 dose should be taken in 24 hours; A second dose has not been shown to be effective for the same migraine attack.
-The safety of treating an average of more than 4 migraine attacks in a 30-day period has not been established.
-This medication is not suitable for preventing migraine attacks.
Application: For the acute treatment of migraines with or without aura.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Because Reyvow is used once as needed, there is no daily dosing schedule. Call your doctor if your migraine symptoms do not improve after using this medication.

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222.
What to avoid
Do not drive or do other dangerous activities for at least 8 hours after taking Reyvow.Your ability to react may be impaired without you being aware of the extent of this impairment.
Drinking alcohol with this medicine may cause side effects.
Reyvow side effects
If necessary, get emergency medical helpSigns of an allergic reaction to Reyvow:hives; difficult breathing; Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Seek immediate medical attention if you have symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as:Restlessness, hallucinations, fever, sweating, shaking, fast heartbeat, muscle stiffness, twitching, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
Common side effects of Reyvow may include:

dizziness, drowsiness;

feel tired; or
-
Numbness or tingling.

What other drugs affect Reyvow?
Using Reyvow with other medicines that make you sleepy may worsen this effect. Consult your doctor before taking opioid medications, sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, or anti-anxiety or seizure medications.
Many medications can interact with lasmiditan. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal products. Not all possible interactions are listed here. Tell your doctor about all medications you are currently taking and any medications you are taking or stopping.
