What is Summer's Eve?

Summers Eve is used for temporary relief of mild vaginal irritation, pain or itching.

Summers Eve should not be used to prevent pregnancy or a sexually transmitted disease.

Summers Eve may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Side effects of Summers Eve

If necessary, get emergency medical helpSigns of an allergic reaction:hives; difficult breathing; Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Summers Eve can cause serious side effects. Stop using Summers Eve and call your doctor immediately if you have:

  • persistent vaginal pain or pain;

  • itching, swelling, or redness;

  • vaginal dryness; or

  • severe irritation or burning.

Less serious side effects may be more likely, and you may not have any at all.

Before you take this medicine

You should not use Summers Eve if you are allergic to it.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe to use Summers Eve if you have:

  • kidney disease; or

  • a thyroid disease.

If you are pregnant, ask a doctor before using this medicine.

Do not use this medicine on children or adolescents without medical advice.

How should I use Summers Eve?

Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor.

Carefully read and follow all instructions for use that come with your medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you do not understand these instructions.

Do not take orally. This medicine is for use in the vagina only.

Gently insert the applicator nozzle no deeper than 3 inches into your vagina. Squeeze the bottle slowly while allowing fluid to flow freely out of the vagina. Use this medicine while sitting on the toilet or standing in the bath or shower.

When treating an infection, you may be given antibiotics or antifungals to be taken orally or used in the vagina. Take all medicines for the full time prescribed, even if your symptoms improve quickly.

You should not use Summers Eve for longer than 7 days without medical advice. Follow all directions on the medicine label.

Call your doctor if you experience new or worsening symptoms such as abdominal pain, fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, yellow or foul-smelling vaginal discharge, painful and frequent urination, or genital sores.

Summers Eve can stain skin and fabrics. You can use rubbing alcohol to remove stains from your skin. Stains on fabrics can be removed by rinsing with ammonia diluted with water. Avoid getting the medicine on jewelry, especially silver.

Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.

Each Summers Eve disposable shower is intended for single use only.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular time. Do not use two doses at the same time.

What happens if I overdose?

An overdose of Summers Eve is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help hotline at 1-800-222-1222 if someone accidentally swallows the medicine.

What should I avoid when using povidone-iodine vaginally?

Don't let the summer evening appear in your eyes.In case of contact, rinse with water. If eye irritation persists, seek medical advice.

Avoid using other vaginal products or medications unless directed to do so by your doctor.

What other medications affect Summers Eve?

Medications used in the vagina are unlikely to be affected by other medications you are taking. But many medications can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products.
