Before using Teplizumab-mzwv

Allergies

Tell your doctor if you have ever had an unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicines. Also tell your doctor if you have other allergies, such as to foods, dyes, preservatives or animals. For over-the-counter products, read the label or package ingredients carefully.

Pediatrics

No relevant studies have been conducted on the association between age and the effects of teplizumab mzwv injection in children under 8 years of age. Safety and effectiveness have not been established.

geriatrics

No appropriate studies have been conducted on the association between age and the effects of teplizumab mzwv injection in the elderly. Stage 2 type 1 diabetes is a condition that usually occurs in children and younger adults.

Breastfeeding

There are insufficient studies in women to determine the risk to infants when using this drug while breast-feeding. Weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks before taking this medication while breastfeeding.

Drug interactions

Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines can be used together, although interactions may occur. Interactions with food/tobacco/alcohol

Other medical problems

The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of this medicine. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

Proper use of teplizumab-mzwv

A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine in a medical facility. It is administered through a needle inserted into a vein. The administration must be done slowly so that the needle must remain in place for at least 30 minutes. This medicine is administered once daily for 14 days.

This medicine comes with a medication guide. Read and follow these instructions carefully. Ask your doctor if you have any questions.

Your doctor will give you other medicines (e.g. an NSAID or paracetamol, medicines for allergies and medicines to prevent nausea or vomiting) in the first 5 days of treatment to reduce side effects.

Precautions when using Teplizumab-mzwv

It is very important that your doctor closely monitors your progress to make sure this medicine is working properly. Blood tests may be needed to check for adverse effects.

Using this medicine during pregnancy may harm your unborn baby. You should not receive this medicine if you are pregnant and for at least 30 days before you plan to become pregnant. If you think you have become pregnant while using this medicine, tell your doctor immediately.

This medicine may cause cytokine release syndrome (CRS). Tell your doctor immediately if you have fever, chills, headache, nausea, lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting, rash, trouble breathing, or tiredness or weakness.

This medicine can cause serious infections. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience collections of pus, chest pain or tightness, confusion, cough, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, fast heartbeat, fever or chills, itching, pain, redness, swelling, tenderness or warmth on the skin, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, nausea, sneezing, stomach pain, swollen, red, tender area of ​​infection, difficulty breathing, or weakness.

This medicine reduces the number of some types of blood cells in your body. This can cause bleeding or infection more easily. To alleviate these problems, avoid being around sick or infected people. Wash your hands often. Avoid strenuous sports or other situations where you could suffer bruises, cuts or injuries. Brush your teeth gently and floss. Be careful when using sharp objects such as razors and fingernail clippers. This medicine reduces the number of some types of blood cells in your body. This can cause bleeding or infection more easily. To alleviate these problems, avoid being around sick or infected people. Wash your hands often. Avoid strenuous sports or other situations where you could suffer bruises, cuts or injuries. Brush your teeth gently and floss. This medicine can cause serious allergic reactions (e.g. serum sickness, angioedema). Contact your doctor immediately if you have chest tightness, cough, difficulty breathing, malaise, fever, joint inflammation, hives, itching or rash, large hives-like swelling of the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, neck, hands, legs, feet or genitals, muscle pain, rash, swollen lymph glands or vomiting.

While you are being treated with Teplizumab mzwv injection, you must not have any vaccinations without your doctor's approval. Live vaccines should not be administered for at least 8 weeks before starting treatment, during treatment and for up to 52 weeks after treatment. Inactivated vaccines should not be administered for at least 2 weeks before starting treatment, during treatment and for 6 weeks after treatment.

Side effects of teplizumab-mzwv
