Viokace Medication Guide

Read this medication guide before you start taking Viokace and each time you get a refill. There may be new information. This information does not replace talking to your doctor about your medical condition or treatment.

Warnings

Viokace may increase your risk of a rare bowel disease called fibrosing colonopathy. This condition is serious and may require surgery. The risk of developing this condition can be reduced if you follow your doctor's dosage instructions.

Call your doctor immediately if you have any unusual or serious symptoms:

What is Viokace?

Viokace is a prescription medicine used with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) to treat adults who cannot digest food normally. Adults who have swelling of the pancreas that lasts for a long time (chronic pancreatitis) or who have had part or all of their pancreas removed (pancreatectomy) may not be able to digest food normally because they do not produce enough enzymes or because their enzymes are not released into the pancreas and intestines (intestines).

How should I take Viokace?

How should I store Viokace?
