What is Zeasorb-AF drying gel?
Zeasorb-AF dry gel (for skin) is used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, itching, ringworm, tinea versicolor (a fungus that discolors the skin) and yeast infections of the skin.
Zeasorb-AF dry gel may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Side effects of Zeasorb-AF dry gel

Zeasorb-AF dry gel can have serious side effects. Stop using Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel and call your doctor immediately if you have:

Severe blistering, redness or irritation of the treated skin.
Common side effects of Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel may include:

Itching, peeling or dry skin.
Although the risk of serious side effects is low when Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel is applied to the skin, side effects may occur if the medicine is absorbed into your bloodstream, including:

dry mouth, sore tongue, toothache, red or swollen gums;

altered sense of taste;
-
nausea, diarrhea; or
-
Headache.

Warnings
Follow all instructions on the label and packaging of your medicine. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies and any medications you take.
Before you take this medicine
You should not use Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel if you are allergic to miconazole.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to use this medicine if you have other medical conditions, especially:

if you use a blood thinner such as warfarin, Coumadin, Jantoven.
It is not known whether Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel will harm an unborn baby.If you are pregnant, do not use this medicine without medical advice.
It is not known whether topical miconazole passes into breast milk or whether it could harm a breastfed baby.Do not use this medicine without medical advice if you are breast-feeding a baby.
How should I use Zeasorb-AF drying gel?
Use exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller quantities or for longer than recommended.
Do not take orally. Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel is intended for use on the skin only. Do not use this medicine on open wounds.
Zeasorb-AF dry gel is not intended for use in the vagina or rectum.
Wash your hands before and after using this medication unless you are treating a skin condition on your hands.
Clean and dry the affected area. Apply the cream, lotion, spray, or powder as directed once or twice daily for 2 to 4 weeks.
Do not cover the treated area of skin unless your doctor tells you to do so. A light cotton gauze bandage can be used to protect clothing.
Use this medication for the full length of time prescribed. Your symptoms may improve before the infection has completely cleared up. Skipping doses may also increase the risk of another infection that is resistant to antifungals.
Call your doctor if the infection does not go away within 2 weeks (or 4 weeks for athlete's foot) or if the infection seems to get worse.
Store at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

What should I avoid when using Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel?
Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, nose, or mouth.
Avoid wearing tight-fitting synthetic clothing that does not allow air circulation. Wear loose-fitting clothing made from cotton and other natural fibers until the infection clears.
What other drugs will affect Zeasorb-AF Drying Gel?
Other medications you take orally or inject are unlikely to affect topical miconazole. But many medications can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products.
