Being in shape is very trendy in the United States of America and everyone is becoming more and more conscious about how they look and how they can exercise to ensure that heads turn while running. It’s what everyone says “The In Thing.” And on top of that, we have Hollywood, which has a huge influence on the minds of people in the United States.
With obesity being one of the most talked about health issues in America, people are turning to gyms and diet plans to ensure they stay fit. However, people don't realize that anything too much or too little can harm you and a balanced diet is the mantra of the diet.
As teenagers become more conscious of flexing and building muscle to give themselves a tall appearance, teenage girls are on the path to slimming down to ensure they look like a photocopy of the supermodel they idolize. We are so busy trying to get slim that we do all sorts of ways to get slim which is now turning into a disaster called Anorexia Nervosa.
Well, it is a type of eating disorder characterized by extremely low body weight and body image distortion. It occurs due to voluntary starvation, excessive exercise and taking diet pills or diuretic medications. It has a number of side effects such as extremely low weight, headaches, constant feeling of cold, slow heartbeat, thinning hair, constipation, reduction in white blood cells, tooth decay, dry skin and so on. Emotionally, one suffers from low self-esteem, obesity phobia and mood swings.
Research has confirmed that anorexia nervosa causes biological, social and psychological factors that the patient sees, hears and feels around them.
