4 stages of acne formation
Understanding the process of acne formation will most likely revolutionize your outlook and approach to treating acne. Many people interchange terms such as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, acne and pimples, but they are different and require a different treatment approach. In this article we will address the “zit” as it is the worst thing for people physically and psychologically.
If we look much more closely at the surface of the skin, we won't see enough of what happens when acne develops. We need to see what's happening under the skin. You've probably seen a picture of a cross-shaped skin incision showing the hair follicle, sweat glands, and other skin topics.
In the first phase we have a clogged hair follicle and we need to know how it got there. Hormones are the first ingredients for a pimple to form. The presence of these androgenic hormones causes the sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum. The hormones come from different sources. The first source that we are very familiar with is puberty. When a young man or woman enters puberty, hormone levels are increased, resulting in significant growth and development of the body, which is important, but the fact that it stimulates the sebaceous gland to secrete more sebum is a negative side effect of the development process. There are other things that increase hormone levels, such as stress, sexual stimulation, and dairy product consumption. The first two cause hormone levels in the body, while the third point, milk consumption, involves a mother cow's intake of hormones designed to help the calf grow quickly.
It is the level of these hormones in the body that causes the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum than is needed. Sebum is a natural product of the body that is necessary for moisturizing hair and skin. If there is too much sebum, it cannot leave the hair follicle quickly enough and as the skin cells constantly reject the two, sebum and skin cells, they stick together and clog the follicle. The bacterium that must be present for acne to form is called Propionibacterium Acnes or p. Acne is always present in the skin and does not cause any problems under normal conditions, but in the presence of a clogged follicle that is warm, moist, dark, low in oxygen and there is a lot of sebum to eat the bacteria, they set up camp and have a typical Roman orgy with lots of eating and reproductive activities. This activity causes chemicals to be released into the body that the white blood cells absorb and break up the party.
Step 3 of acne progression is when the white blood cells arrive and they come in with barrels of fire. The white blood cells release chemicals that kill the bacteria, but the chemicals also injure the surrounding tissue in the process. The things that build up in the hair follicle such as bacteria (live and dead), dead skin cells and the white blood cells (dead and alive) show up in the whitehead that forms called “pus”. The skin is slightly inflamed and may be pink or red and may become painful when pressed with a finger. At this point you can know that a pimple is forming.
Step 4 of the acne process is increased growth of pus. There are a number of situations that may arise during this time. The first thing that is common is for the person to squeeze the pimple so that the whitehead disappears. The terrible thing is that squeezing a pimple is the worst thing you can do because of any of the three following results of squeezing the pimple. Initially, squeezing the pimples can cause the infection that is deep in the skin to be pushed into the skin's surrounding tissues, causing the acne to appear in other hair follicles. Secondly, the pus released onto the surface of the skin can infect other areas of the skin, spreading acne and ultimately causing lifelong scars. This scarring can be partially corrected by laser resurfacing, which is an expensive cosmetic procedure, but most people live with the scars. The scars left by acne drive some people to emotional bankruptcy and psychological scarring for the rest of their lives. A good number of people suffer from depression and some of them face suicidal thoughts creeping into their mind.
Wouldn't it be more appropriate to make changes in your life that are known to prevent acne and improve your skin condition?
