Warning of serious side effects: Doctors warn against Ozempic weight loss injection

Last year there was a real hype surrounding the Ozempic weight loss injection. A renowned doctor has now warned of serious side effects from the injection. Ozempic, containing the active ingredient semaglutide, is often used to treat diabetes. Semaglutide mimics the hormone GLP-1, which produces feelings of satiety and regulates hunger metabolism. It can improve blood sugar control and slow stomach emptying.

The well-known physician Dr. Mark Hyman recently warned of additional side effects from Ozempic in a podcast. The increased risk of intestinal obstruction is particularly frightening. This can occur because the movement of food in the intestines is slowed down. An intestinal obstruction can lead to serious complications such as tissue necrosis or intestinal rupture, which can be life-threatening.

Reports of side effects from Ozempic have increased in recent months. These include stomach paralysis, chronic diarrhea, tooth loss and even unwanted pregnancies in women. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) lists nausea, diarrhea and hypoglycemia as common side effects. Since there are no long-term studies on the effects of Ozempic, other side effects could occur. Dr. Mark Hyman warns that as Ozempic prescriptions increase, more potential side effects may come to light.
