Our facilities are outside the designated risk zone for current seismic and volcanic activity near Grindavík, Iceland. Although the lava ridge is closer to our farms than in previous eruptions, it remains at a safe distance and does not currently pose a threat to our infrastructure.
We are in regular contact with local authorities and our water and energy suppliers to stay informed of any developments that may affect our business. Continuous water sampling by ISOR Island GeoSurvey near our Vogar facility has shown no signs of change. In addition, our energy supplier HS Veitur has implemented a robust monitoring program to minimize the risk of power outages.
As previously communicated, we have comprehensive contingency plans in place to respond to possible changes. The safety of our employees is our top priority and we have secured emergency power and access to essential supplies, including oxygen, feed and oil, to ensure operational continuity.
Since the first outbreaks, our fish and egg production has continued uninterrupted. We maintain our regular egg delivery schedule and ensure the high product quality our customers expect.
In the unlikely event of a closure of Keflavík Airport, we have contingency plans in place that include alternative shipping methods and leverage the successful strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
